      Position Overview

      The Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire a Hospital Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the McFarland Mental Health Center located in Springfield, Illinois to plan, direct, administer and coordinate all mental health services at McFarland Mental Health Center. Manages all general, medical, psychiatric, administrative and fiscal functions. The incumbent will interpret department, state and federal policies, regulations and procedures to subordinates, outside official, professional and public groups.

      Job Responsibilities

      1. Serves as the Hospital Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of McFarland Mental Health Center.

      2. Directs, reviews and enforces standards of care and treatment for persons receiving services at the hospital in accord with Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Mental Health (DMH) policies and procedures, standards of practice as determined by professional associations, Joint Commission, CMS, Illinois Mental Health Code.

      3. Directs Fiscal Management staff on matters involving the development and management of McFarland’s budget.

      4. Serves as the official spokesperson for the hospital.

      5. Serves as full-line supervisor.

      6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable within the scope of those enumerated above.

      Minimum Requirements

      1. Requires a master’s degree in a health or human services related field.

      2. Requires four (4) years progressively responsible administrative experience in a health or human services organization, facility or hospital.

      Conditions of Employment

      1. Requires the ability to serve on-call after business hours, weekends and holidays on a rotation basis.

      2. Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.

      3. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.

      4. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

      5. Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
